Description
Maritime Cybersecurity — Why It Is Now Mandatory
The shipping industry is under increasing cyber threat.
In 2025, the International Chamber of Shipping identified cyber attacks as one of the four highest risks to global maritime operations. Incidents targeting navigation systems, cargo management platforms, and onboard IT infrastructure are rising year on year.
Regulators have responded. The IMO requires all companies to address cyber risk within their Safety Management Systems. The US Coast Guard has mandated annual cybersecurity training for all maritime personnel from January 2026. OCIMF-referenced guidelines now form part of vetting and inspection frameworks across the tanker and offshore sectors.
This course provides the practical knowledge required o meet these obligations — from identifying cyber threats and understanding attack vectors, to implementing risk management frameworks aligned with IMO, USCG, and BIMCO standards.
Delivered entirely online. Self-paced. Certificate issued upon completion.
